How Does PRP Hair Therapy Work?
Physicians have been using PRP for decades to heal various types of damage in the body. Our own blood contains a healing property called platelets and we use this property from the patient’s own body to rejuvenate targeted areas. With PRP hair therapy, we target the scalp to restore hair growth and health.

What Should I Expect from a PRP Hair Therapy Treatment?
We always start by evaluating the patient’s areas of concerns and making a treatment plan. When we’re ready to start treatment, we extract blood samples from the patient. This a lot like having your blood taken for testing at the doctor’s office. Then we treat the blood samples to separate platelets from red blood cells and other components. This produces plasma with high concentrations of platelets, which is why it’s called “platelet rich” plasma.
Finally, our trained and certified staff inject the platelet rich plasma into areas of the scalp that need restoration.
Injections of platelet rich plasma stimulate healing and growth by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft. Within 90 days after the first treatment, patients see signs of regrowth and new hair health. Individual treatments typically last less than one hour and treatment plans vary depending on the area and severity of condition. Patients should avoid washing their hair and scalp for about 48 hours after treatment.
