Fighting unwanted fat is a tough battle. Many struggle with stomach bulges or double chins that will not go away no matter how many sit ups or neck strengtheners are done. Spot reduction is not possible with just exercise. This fact may leave you asking, “How do I lose this last bit of belly bulge?” A great solution: CoolSculpting!
What is CoolSculpting?
Coolsculpting is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical treatment that freezes fat to reduce or even eliminate stubborn, unwanted fat that won’t go away with diet and exercise. CoolSculpting has grown in popularity because of it’s non-invasive approach to spot reduction. The non-invasive controlled cooling fights the layer of fat under the skin with the CoolSculpting System’s medical device. This device was designed with safety in mind, automatically shutting down if its built-in sensors detect the skin getting too cold. In addition, our Bellevue CoolSculpting Specialists are trained to provide a safe and successful procedure.
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
The CoolSculpting treatment is based on the proven science of Cryolipolysis®. Cryolipolysis is an approach to targeting fat cells with cold temperatures, avoiding damage to the skin or surrounding tissue while freezing and eliminating specific fat cells. Once fat cells are frozen, they will slowly die and the body removes them through it’s natural elimination process. Once the fat cells are dead, they can’t return, providing long-lasting results. Results may be visible as early as 3 weeks after your procedure, but the most dramatic results will be visible after 3 – 4 months since that’s how long it takes for the body to naturally processes dead fat cells.
What is the CoolSculpting Procedure Like? What Areas Can It Treat?
CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared for the treatment of double chin (submental area), abdomen, thighs, love handles (flanks), bra fat, back fat, banana roll (fat under the buttocks), and upper arms.
During your consultation with one of our Bellevue CoolSculpting Specialists, a treatment plan will be created, determining treatments areas, the number of treatments needs for desired look, and type of applicator needed.
To begin your treatment, a gel or gel pad and applicator (with or without a vacuum) are applied to area of unwanted fat. If your treatment requires a vacuum, tissue will be drawn into the applicator cup. This may cause the feeling of pulling, tugging, or milk pinching. If your treatment doesn’t utilize a vacuum, you may feel a sensation of pressure.
Cooling will start soon after, possibly bringing on an intense cold feeling. This should subside within 10 minutes once the area becomes numb. A procedure can last from 30 – 60 minutes. Our Bellevue medispa wants you to feel as comfortable as possible during your procedure, so feel free to enjoy a book or magazine or get in a quick snooze. Once the procedure is over, the applicator is removed. For some, this results in a frozen bulge. Our Bellevue CoolSculpting Specialist may rewarm the area by manually massaging and smoothing it out. There is no downtime. Many return to work after their procedure.
Soon, you’ll experience a reduction in the treatment visible bulge!
Any Reason I Should Not Move Forward with CoolSculpting?
Unfortunately, this treatment is not for everyone. CoolSculpting is not a treatment for obesity. It is also not suited for those with a medical history that indicates the body cannot handle cold temperatures. Some of these conditions, disorders, and diseases include cryoglobulinemia, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, and cold agglutinin disease.
How Much Will It Cost to Achieve My Desired Look?
At your consultation, you and your Bellevue CoolSculpting Specialist will determine the specifics of your treatment, including the number of treatments that will be needed and pricing.
